Ubi Caritas

"Ubi Caritas" literally means "where love" in Latin.  It is the title (and the first two words) of the Gregorian hymn Ubi Caritas.  The first line of that hymn is "Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est" : "Where charity/loving-kindness and love are, God always is."

I'm learning to do what I love.  I'm working harder than I ever have, and I'm happier than I've ever been.

What a life!

What is this blog going to be about?  It will be about a lot of things.  It will be about good music and good books, and, conversely, about equally bad music and poorly written books.  It'll touch on theology and philosophy sometimes.  It will be about life as a college student who works in a bookstore and dreams of singing "somewhere big."  It will be about crazy customers occasionally.  It will include some all-time bad pickup lines I've heard from men (and trust me, there have been doozies).  It will be about my observations of the world and the people within it.

In short, it will be about what I'm singing, thinking, reading or experiencing from day to day (or week to week, as there may be extended breaks due to an overloaded schedule).  It will be about me.
